Cradled in the Andes, Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable
lake, has a magical ambience and is the birth place of the Inca
Empire. You’ll visit the famous floating islands of the Uros Indians
fashioned from the tortora reed before crossing the Altiplano to
explore bustling Cusco, the crossroads of South America where Inca
stonework and colonial architecture fuse.
Whilst most trekkers opt for a four-day trek, you will experience
the best of the Andes on a less-trekked and higher seven-day trail,
encompassing spectacular views of Salkantay. Camp at the foot of
the 5800m glaciated peak of Huamantay, cross a 5000m pass and
marvel at the majesty of the Andes before trekking between Inca
outposts on the way to mystical Machu Picchu.
Transport- Internal flight, minibus, boat, on foot.
Distinctive Accommodation- Hotels (7nts), camp (6nts).
Meals included- 13 breakfasts, 7 lunches & 6 dinners.
There are several different trekking routes to Machu Picchu. This special route includes the classic parts of the Trail, but is also longer, higher and harder, taking you along wilder and more remote sections for a truly rewarding experience. It is therefore the choice of the serious trekker. This route is graded strenuous due to the harder nature of the trek, its greater length and increased altitude. You must be in good physical condition.
